Free Phone Consultation
Are you concerned that your child may be falling behind in their speech or language skills when compared to same-age peers? Please give us a call and we can discuss your concerns and questions. The free brief phone consultation will give you the opportunity to share an overview of your child’s strengths and needs and discuss your family’s concerns. We will be able to learn about your child and ask initial questions, which will give us an idea on whether or not a screening or full assessment is warranted.
Screenings
Free in-person screenings are currently being offered to identify potential deficits in speech and/or language. This is a great opportunity for us to meet your kiddo, complete informal screening tasks, and answer initial questions pertaining to speech-language services. After the screening is completed, we will review the results with you and provide recommendations. We will let you know if the screening indicates that further evaluation is warranted.
Evaluations
We offer evaluations and therapy to children ages birth-18. An evaluation is performed by a certified Speech-Language Pathologist to determine your child’s current strengths and weaknesses. Typically, both speech and language skills are assessed. Your child may demonstrate difficulty with speech only, language only, or both speech and language. You will receive a complete written evaluation report, complete with formal assessment results, informal observations, background information, and recommendations on whether or not services are warranted.
Therapy
Individual speech and/or language therapy sessions are scheduled for 30 or 45 minutes, depending on the child’s needs and family preferences. Therapy sessions may take place 1-3 times per week. During this time, children have the opportunity to work on their goals and learn strategies to enhance their communication skills. We believe in the importance of family involvement and provide weekly homework and communication to facilitate carry-over of skills. We strongly believe in a team approach and consult with parents, teachers, physical and occupational therapists, and other professionals in the therapy process when appropriate.
