Free Phone Consultation

Are you concerned that your child may be falling behind in their speech or language skills when compared to same-age peers? Please give us a call and we can discuss your concerns and questions. The free brief phone consultation will give you the opportunity to share an overview of your child’s strengths and needs and discuss your family’s concerns. We will be able to learn about your child and ask initial questions, which will give us an idea on whether or not a screening or full assessment is warranted.

Therapy

Individual speech and/or language therapy sessions are scheduled for 30 or 45 minutes, depending on the child’s needs and family preferences. Therapy sessions may take place 1-3 times per week. During this time, children have the opportunity to work on their goals and learn strategies to enhance their communication skills. We believe in the importance of family involvement and provide weekly homework and communication to facilitate carry-over of skills. We strongly believe in a team approach and consult with parents, teachers, physical and occupational therapists, and other professionals in the therapy process when appropriate.

Evaluations

We offer evaluations and therapy to children ages birth-18. An evaluation is performed by a certified Speech-Language Pathologist to determine your child’s current strengths and weaknesses. Typically, both speech and language skills are assessed. Your child may demonstrate difficulty with speech only, language only, or both speech and language. You will receive a complete written evaluation report, complete with formal assessment results, informal observations, background information, and recommendations on whether or not services are warranted.

AAC Caregiver Consultation

Individual caregiver consultations are scheduled for 45 minutes. Did your child just get an AAC device and you’re struggling to help them navigate your part as his/her caregiver? I can help you learn how to be a good communication partner and foster natural-language learning with the use of the AAC device. These sessions can be virtual or in-office. It is advised to keep kids out of these sessions, to minimize distractions in order to learn and maintain skills to help facilitate, use, and be a great communication partner to your child. Resources are provided during sessions. Caregiver consultations are not covered by health insurance, so these sessions are at an out of pocket expense.
